this Friday we've got DAVE LOWE [Obscene, Split] on the decks for one hour of sweet dnb stylings. Those of you who have caught Dave on the decks will know his sets are filled with some of the best examples of every subgenre of dnb new and old. Dave rocked it at Symbiosis a while back and we're hyped to have him on the show. Tune in on Friday at 8pm to catch his set.

student radio awards

Armed Response has been selected as one of the final 5 contenders in the "Best Specialist Programming" category at 2008 Student Radio Awards in London. We're totally hyped to be representing Subcity Radio and Glasgow University at the event, and proud to be flying the flag for drum n' bass!

Thanks to everyone at the station for their support in this, particularly for putting our show forward in the first place!

Awards take place on Thursday November 6th at the IndigO2 venue in LDN.

armed response dnb feat y2d

yes yes!

This Friday we've got a special one hour set from up-and-coming drum n' bass producer Y2D, one to watch in the coming months if you like your drum n' bass deep, soulful and funky.

Hailing from Aberdeen, Y2D is one of Scotland's top unsigned dnb producers, drawing influence from LTJ Bukem, Calibre and Photek. His tunes "Fya!", "Roadblock" and "Hornet" have been featured on BBC Radio One, and one of the first tunes he ever sent us, "Moonlight" still gets played regularly on the show. Y2D also promotes "Full Spektrum" in Aberdeen, holdin' it down for the dnb scene up North alongside the mighty Jungle Nation.

We love to support Scottish unsigned talent on Armed Response so make sure you get locked to check this out.
