Tune in for thigh-slapping, toe-tapping, arm-linking fun! "It's a Barndance" is all about celebrating the upbeat, raucous and sometimes emotional genres of folk rock, gypsy punk and celtic dance.

Expect bands such as Mumford and Sons, Fleet Foxes, the Pogues, Runrig, Simon and Garfunkel, Laura Marling, Angus and Julia Stone, Bellowhead, Elliot Smith, Elvis Perkins, Beirut, Bright Eyes, Tom Jones's Welsh ballads, Broken Records, Noah and the Whale, Washington Irving, Seth Lakeman, Lau, The Walkmen, **pause for breath**, Yasmin Levi, Roddy Woomble (of Idlewild), Fran Healy (of Travis), Horslips, The Waterboys and many more. Along with these, there will be frequent updates on up-and-coming local bands including the venues and dates they will be playing in Glasgow.

This show hopes to grow with the artists it plays and will be drafting them into the studio for an intimate session of music and questions about the what it's like to be a folk rock artist.

The sweet and soft patter will tickle your ear drums and massage your mind into a hypnotic farmyard trance.

youtube sensation prof. splash interview

It's a Barndance // 14.03.11 // Live Music and the new Show Agony Aunt

Introducing Gabbie Corbett as my temporary co-host for the show. We discuss personal stories, hanky panky in the library, Ai Wei Wei, Public Displays of Affection, Penguin Prostitutes and Richard Madeley. We're also interviewing the very special guest Professor Splash, the youtube sensation with over 400,000 hits.

See his video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JINC4wLP_fE

I would also like to apologise to Professor Splash for any offence caused - At no point was I trying to do so. I have told him as such and he's replied: "Coolio, you people were fun,,,it's hard trans-Atlantic radio,,,we did good. Talk to you soon! SplashMan"

src elections grilling & folk rock fun

It's a Barndance // 28.02.11 // SRC Election Roasting & Folk Rock Melodies

After the barren monologues of the last shows, you've been gifted with two guests, in the shape of Ross Mathers - Election Candidate for Media and Communications - and Neal Robb - Election Candidate for Learning and Development.

Prepare for a light hearted grilling of their policies with some top notch folk rock to boot. Horrific, beautiful, squelchy, itchy, awkward, sexy are just some of the emotions stirred up during the broadcast.

Discussions include Goldfish, Gaddafi, Mumsnet, Marvin Gaye, Smear Campaigns, Jeremy Hunt - Cultural Secretary, Dr Deidre, Subcity, Stockings, GUM magazine - new issue released today! and buskers. Not to be missed.

Elections are on Tuesday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th. Kisses.

valentine's day special

It's a Barndance // 14.02.11 // Some Fantastic Local Bands and Golden Oldies

By far the most professionally conducted of all the shows, Adam decides to give out his mobile number to see if anyone is out there listening. Coincidentally, it's also Valentines Day. On top of that, he talks to himself about the up adn comign SRC elections and the National Folk Rock Awards. Some good music and standard patter.

celtic connections folk festival - glasgow

It's a Barndance // 17.01.11 // Celtic Connections Folk Festival - Glasgow

This is a very special episode. Firstly, This episode is a display of talent at Glasgow's momentous folk festival "Celtic Connections". The artists on offer include the reformation of the legendary Tom Jones, Travis frontman Fran Healy, Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble, The Walkmen, Seth Lakeman and many more. This episode is the only one that I will assert the claim of being unmissable, it's all about the music and nothing else. This is the template for the rest of the year. Mind the minor technical faults (some things never change) and enjoy yourself.
