Keeping in touch with the geographical theme of last week’s show, it’s only right that I hop across the Atlantic and focus on some of the finest leftfield pop, beat makers, noise mongers, experimentalists and the current crop of innovators coming out of Glasgow and Scotland as a whole. The ingredients that makes these community of musicians from glasgow thrive is really quite an eclectic taste, but one that serves up to be rather potent, profound and brimming full of ideas.

With exceptional record labels, promoters and club nights alike such as the LuckyMe family, Ballers Social Club (B5C), Cry Parrot, Winning Sperm Party, The Glad Cafe, Soma Records, Rock Action, Numbers, Huntleys & Palmers Audio Club, Halleluwah Hits and a whole plethora of others that I haven’t mentioned, Glasgow is constantly and consistently establishing new and exciting acts week in, week out, with only one stipulation to abide by.

Which is to forget about using hallucinogenic narcotics to alter yer fragile MINDZ, because you won't need any after listening to this lot of creative individuals, as your brain and mind will spill out of YER eyeballs and onto the floor. So be prepared and ready to tear away the exterior of your cranium and subsequently let the interior of your HEED’S contents - the BRAIN - melt into a warm, fuzzy, gloopy, sticky mixture of comic plasma and let it wash away and evaporate within the atmosphere of the earth, weaving between matter and reality, down streams on mountain tops and soaring across the sky with feathered beings through a flurry of treetop branches.

Similarly to that of last week’s artists from the L.A. Series, acts such as Dam Mantle, Hudson Mohawke, Fox Gut Daata, Mike Slott, Ben Butler & Mousepad, Orzelda and DJ Idullibir Ultra Lepar have been peeling away initial rules and conceptions, pushing boundaries, seeking out obscure, pedantic, quirky, shamanic, tribalistic sounds to not only enthrall the listener but to also haunt them. If last week was a journey through swirling vortex’s and surfing planets, tonight is all about journeying back to our primitive roots, reaching back and offering a sacrificial devotion to mother nature in the hope that the weather witches, druids, and sorcerers of this planet have compassion for us now as they did to our ancestors during the dark ages, the age of the pyramids, and other such times long ago.
