Shut Up and Eat Your Music // 18.02.10

Well that's last weeks and this weeks shows up to listen again. Last week Nick was absent, however we still managed a live set with the lovely Baldego, head to www.myspace.com/baldego after you've listened to the show. After that you could do worse than checking out this weeks show when The Dirt joined us to do a couple of songs. If murder ballads are your sort of thing (think Violet Femmes) then I would most definitely have a listen. That's right folks, the more anal among you may notice a little of the dreaded "dead air" about halfway through our show, this was because our live guest Alan McKim was demonstrating his talent as a mime artist. We weren't sure how well that would go across on radio, as far as we were concerned it was great. Let us know if you agree.

Suffice to say if you go listen you'll find the usual amount of nonsense banter, including a guest appearance from our new mascot Colin the Duck, songs by bands you'll know like Maccabees and Suede, and songs by bands you should know like The Brother Louis Collective and Mickey 9's, and a fantastic live performance from Alan McKim rounding things off nicely. And remember, if you hear it on the show you'll be able to hear it live this week in Glasgow, so get off your ass and get out to some great gigs, some of the best ones this week are free, which frankly you don't deserve ...

Yes, when a show kicks off with a reference to Owls playing Buckaroo, you know Nick must be back in the studio. No live guest this week i'm afraid, which reveals a truism, never expect a musician to know their own phone number.

Same format as last week, your guide to what's hot and not in Glasgow gigs this week. There's Americana, Indie-Disco, Alt-rock and what we've decided to christen Hair-Math, which begs the question, are fans of the genre Hair-Math-rodites? Yeah, Nick didn't find that funny either. Listen in to hear the actual funny stuff, some great music, some not so great music and the usual screw ups!
