words per minute and the forest cafe
Kirstin Innes is in the studio this week to talk about Words Per Minute, formerly of Creation Studios, but which has moved to the Arches and will have its first night there on Sunday! It's a night of spoken word, film, music and performance, and we've managed put a wee taster together for you, including writing from Kirsty Logan and music from Ryan Van Winkle, Adam Stafford (of Y'all Is Fantasy Island) and Miaoux Miaoux.
You can hear more from them on the night, and you can also hear more by buying the album Ultrachip vs. Forest Closure, which has just been released to help raise funds to save The Forest Cafe. If you know Edinburgh, you'll know the Forest as the city's finest vegan haunt, as well as a place that massively supports the arts, particularly by putting on the spectacular Forest Fringe event. It's free, it pulls in some of the best people working in theatre and performance art and it'll break many a heart if it's not there next year. You can buy the CD or donate to the campaign here.
Pick of the week is Glasgow Podcart's exhibition in the Barras Courtyard Eclectic Peel, and it runs until Saturday.
