Hey folks,
Due to illness last week and work commitments this week (I will be sunning myself in Loughborough for the end of the week), I haven't had much time to devote to the show!
There will be a show this week though, and I'll be playing a selection of 1960s soul and funk. Expect to hear the likes of Gladys Knight & The Pips, Nina Simone, The Latinaires, Garnett Mimms, Mutt & Jeffo, The Chambers Brothers, Billy Preston and pure hunners mare...
The Spotlight this week is on Lou Courtney. A funky soulster who should be much better known than he is. Can you guess what I will be doing? Yes, I will be playing a few of my favourite tracks of his! Nice.
The Weird But Wonderful vote sees a couple of British soul-boys go head to head:

1. Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl
Probably his most famous song, with millions of airplays registered on US radio, Van Morrison claims that he has never received a penny from it - due to the contract he ill-advisedly signed at the time.

2. Joe Cocker - Woman To Woman
The track that Tupac and Dr. Dre turned into 'California Love'. Nuff said.
