Hey folks,
I don't know if those of you based in the UK caught the BBC 4 documentary, 'Synth Britannia' the other week? I did - and guess what this week's show is all about?
Yes, it is a total rip off of... er... I mean fascinating companion piece to that very TV show.
Expect to hear a selection of predictably left-field synth classics, as well as some more chart friendly acts too. They are set to include the likes of Duran Duran, Joy Division, The Pet Shop Boys, Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, Gary Numan, OMD, Giorgio Moroder and more.
The Spotlight is on a band I had forgotten I liked until I watched 'Synth Britannia': Depeche Mode. As usual, it won't involve any rocket science. I'll just be playing a short selection of some of the songs from their first few albums what I really likes.
The Weird But Wonderful vote is between a couple of monster snyth No. 1s (which are also a little bit No. 2):
