Just Right Up Your Cup of Tea Street // 07.12.08 // Headphones For Everyone!

So, that was that and those were those, without headphones. A show of deliberatingly didantic slobbers of music, talk & moths. It's been a week of highs and lows but against the tide, you all held oot. This day, we had the finest music on SubCity Radio, the finest speak in all of Govan and subjects to melt Chaucer's mom's libido. Have a listen and see for yrself.

Just Right Up Your Cup of Tea Street // 23.11.08 // Mlle. Radio

On this week's show we had thrills, trills, spills and an audaciously bwiwyint time with Glasgow's cat amongst the pigeons, Mlle. Leaves (fae French Disko) who played us two exclusive songs and provided us with enough sampling material to wipe out a small army of earz.

Anyway, if you haven't already, go listen - if one can.

Just Right Up Your Cup of Tea Street // 16.11.08 // Lambs Anger with the fellas fae Bangor...

AAAWWWWWOOOOGAAAAH!!!!

Had a lot of fun doing this weeks show with a lot of slow dances, slaps, hoots and larfs being had in the studio. Hats off and thumbs up to everyone's favourite gastro-enteritis victim, Gaz, for having a heavy hand in in today's pickings after my external hard drive died.

Yet more exclusives, this week from TEAM B, the brand new ARCADE FIRE/ BEIRUT/ LCD SOUNDSYSTEM Supergroup, great wee song "On My Mind" left us in a wee romantic tizzy.

Another exciting thing this week was our FIRST EVS COMPETITION and what a fucking treat we have for ya...the chance to win a SIGNED COPY OF MR. OIZO's new fuckin album, Lamb's Anger. How did we do it? Well, if we told you, you'd probably not believe us. We are noddy widdle boyz.... So needless to say get onto our forum and answer this week's DJ TECHNO MATHMATICAL RIDDLE to be in with a chance to get your hands on this little smasher. BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE SHOW IN ORDER TO HEAR THE QUESTION... The winner will be announced on next week's show, deadline 4pm next Sunday...so if you haven't already joined the forum, we've given you a very very good reason to right the now!

As mentioned, local artist Mlle. Leaves will be on next week's show with two brand new songs from his new EP which should be available early next year so yet more reasons for keeping up with us EVERY Sunday from 5pm!!

Lots of lurve,

Davy

tribal lady dances: because we're only two once...

Just Right Up Your Cup of Tea Street // 09.11.08 // Tribal Lady Dances: Because we're only two once...

....we still parp things up from time to thyme but equally weighted with a lovely wee playlist again this week we smoothed things out towards the end...

On this week's show we had an exclusive Evil Nine track from their new album ("They Live!")

Speil (who we meanly demean) joined us in the studio for dirty small talk and back chat about his failing uni career, his painter boss, his obsessive love of David Marhsall (you'll find out shortly why we love him when he makes a guest appearance before Xmas), and a wee track from Apparat. Noice.

We promise to be back next week with more Nearest and Dearest, improvised studio phone number jingles, conversations with randomly selected friends on our mobiles, and a droolingly gorgeous competition with the chance to win some very, very brand new signed CDs. Oh and a pause for thought....

Merci bouquets,

Davy

erol alkan, garibadli's, and the scilly isles

Just Right Up Your Cup of Tea Street // 02.11.08 // Erol Alkan, Garibadli's, and the Scilly Isles

Silly wee men that we are, the show didn't actually start until pretty much 10 minutes in with a lovely morcel (Jo) from Mr. Oizo's new album, Lamb's Anger. Supoib little ditty followed by us nervously getting our hands on alien dials which we don't know how to use properly so it was, as the critic David Bennente admitted, "a literal and metaphoric pile of horse jobby in terms of production and chat". As a result we are away to work out our respective problems including us talking over each other, Gary's gastro-enteritis and my disappearing voice.

We will be back next Sunday at 5pm, hopefully on better form to play you a tantalising selection of oddities and to tell you a little bit about our up-and-coming-mini-music-documentaries and mini-mixes...by the way the Erol Alkan exemplar was (shockingly) NOT an exclusive...it was just a wee taster of whats coming...

LURVE
