creating and publishing in glasgow
This week sees News Empire focusing on a theme: creating and publishing. Writers struggling to tackle a novel in a month, a photographer documenting the party scene of Glasgow, and a nude calendar from GUSA are all featured on this week's show.
Headlines All of the breaking international, national and local news.

NaNoRiMo Now Everybody thinks they have a novel in them, but how many actually end up writing one? For those so inclined, the National Novel Writing Month sets would-be novelists the task (and gives them an opportunity) of writing an entire 50,000 word novel in the month of November. It's Katie Anderson's first NaNo, while Kirsty Logan is an old hand at the event- they both offer their take on the process and how it has shaped them as writers. Also, Professor Michael Schmidt from the English literature department at Glasgow University offers his thoughts on the event and it's place in the world of writing.

Photographing Glasgow Harrison Reid has been photographing parties in and around Glasgow for several years and is due to publish a book on the topic- eventually. He talks about what it's like to photograph in Glasgow and what the self-publishing odyssey is like for photographers.

GUSA Nude Members of Glasgow University Sports Association teams go buff for charity. Louise Pollock investigates.
