the lafontaines in the subcity studio (at last)

Fresh from a headlining slot at the ABC2 and on the verge of releasing their anticipated debut EP, The LaFontaines arrive in the Subcity studio this week on Pop Goes The Revolution for a special one hour show.

Quickly rising up the ranks of the Glasgow music scene, and receiving praise from sources ranging from local radio to The Sunday Times, The LaFontaines seem to be winning respect and adoration wherever they land and play their eclectic combination of genres that has become their now distinctive sound.

Not only will The LaFontaines be in the studio joining George and Nikki in the usual Pop Goes The Revolution banter, choosing a few tunes, and answering any questions people have, but they will also playing a few acoustic tracks live on air from within our tiny studio.

And as a final bonus to listen in, if you listen in live to the show you can win a signed EP as well as a tshirt from the band themselves. So remember to tune into 106.6fm or www.subcity.org

From here the band already have a slot supporting Beardyman at his sold out King Tut’s shows, as well as a showing at this year’s Homecoming festival alongside the likes of Reverend & The Makers and The Enemy. With the amount of attention currently focussing on this band, and with their reputation for playing some stunning sets and quite frankly the best stage banter known in Glasgow, be sure to tune into The LaFontaines showing on Pop Goes The Revolution, this Thursday at midday, or anytime on Listen Again.

Radio won’t know what’s hit it…

A few quotes worthy of note:

“It shouldn’t work, but it does. The LaFontaines are the real deal” - Rachel Devine (The Sunday Times)

“The LaFontaines make Glasvegas sound like they come from Bearsden” - Tom Morton (BBC Radio Scotland)

“The LaFontaines keep it fresh with a fresh hybrid style that rocks hard!!” - MC Lars
