i love it here

Now that the Subcity signal has finally found fresh air, and is no longer confined to live underground in the usual ‘series of tubes’ that take it to your computer via the world wide web, we’ve decided that we quite like it on FM. The enjoyment of tuning the little radio to track down the Subcity waves scurrying through the air looking for a radio to talk to.

Therefore, here at Pop Goes The Revolution, we’ve decided we’re going to stay. Of course the problem is there are already a lot of these radio station type things hanging around clogging up the skies and having their waves knock each other out. Therefore, we’ve decided the only way forward is that one of them must go, and be forced off our Cliff to join the other things we’ve taken a disliking to.

After all, the things already sacrificed to our cliff need some form of radio entertainment, something has to broadcast to all those involved with Cliff Richard, The NME, Crocs, Eastenders, Box, The SECC, Sarah Palin, Costa Coffee, Facebook, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, The Waitresses, The Darkness, HMV and Brad Pitt.

So who shall entertain them and be gotten rid of once and for all. The Cliff List returns and is already poised to grab a radio station and make sure that it meets its cliff based doom.

For those who don’t know the rules, they’re simple. You nominate any radio station that you feel is the worst to have to put up with, then the two with the most votes are announced on air. The two then keep their votes and then have one more hour to fight it off on air for their survival as the votes continue to accumulate throughout the show. Then the radio station with the most votes at the end of the show is pushed off our metaphorical cliff and left to be forgotten.

Hate something? Push it off a cliff.

So, vote now. You can do this in many many ways. Either:

Go to our Facebook: ‘Pop Goes The Revolution’, join it, and vote there.
Go to our bebo: www.bebo.com/popgoestherevolution, join it and vote there.
Got to our MySpace: www.myspace.com/popgoestherevolution, and send us an email there.
Email us at : popgoestherevolution@googlemail.com
Or, last but certainly not least, click the comment on this episode tab at the bottom of this page, and you will be whisked away to the happy poll officially dedicated to it on the Subcity website.

Welcome to the cliff list. Now it’s up to your to tell us which radio station you hate the most and tune in at 106.6fm or www.subcity.org this Thursday to find out which radio station is declared Britain’s worst.

fizzy pop goes the revolution

This week with Nikki unfortunately missing in action on the road to pop culture revolution, she will be unable to make Pop Goes The Revolution’s landing on FM.

However unwilling to let this affect our revolutionary momentum we have called up another participant from the ranks to help take charge this Thursday. This week, as a one off special, George will be joined by Hannah from the Subcity show Electric Lemonade (www.subcity.org/shows/electriclemonade). Rest assured though, that the show will continue it’s usual style. We will continue to introduce more songs by excellent independent and unsigned bands from around the country that no one has heard of, we will have the usual break down of all the pop culture and arts in our fair city over the coming week, another new and exciting film review from our specialist Becca, and last but not least the Cliff List lands once more (details of that to arrive on Monday).

So join George and Hannah from Electric Lemonade this Thursday as Pop Goes The Revolution goes all FM, as for one week the show becomes Fizzy Pop Goes The Revolution…

…did you see what we did with the names there? Fizzy… Lemonade… get it?
