This week on The Red Room, we discussed the wonderful and perculiar student occupation of the formerly vacant Hetherington Research Club building in Glasgow University and its wonderfully welcoming and friendly participants (http://freehetherington.wordpress.com/), an innappropriate (in terms of audience) Malcolm Middleton gig at Mono Café Bar, and the culinary delight that is quinoa.
Subjects also discussed included the literature of Gilbert Adair (The Dreamers), Stieg Larsson (The Millenium Trilogy) and John Wyndham (Day of the Triffids), the films of Jean-Luc Godard (Bande à Part, Week End), Pier Paolo Pasolini (Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom), Akira Kurosawa (Seven Samurai), Giorgos Lanthimos (Dogtooth) and a certain Hoboken-based band currently performing "sitcom theatre" of a certain Manhattan-based sitcom...
