knowing me knowing you, aha.....
So the guests have been cast aside with carefree if not gay abandon. The studio lights have been softened, candlelight flickers suggestively whilst burning incense meanders causing occasional spluttering into the studio mics.
What is this nonsense? What delights will unfold in tonight’s show as Derek and Allan offering a comforting yet splendidly suggestive hand of support in what would otherwise be yer dampest hour? Well we're saying nothing so you'll have to damn well listen to find out!

errors bloody errors.......
She Said would like to start a rumour with foundation.....it is possibly the absolute truth that legendary Rock Action layabouts Errors have a new album done and dusted in the can for imminent release...it is speculated a mighty tour is being readied for early in the New Year....it is whispered their new material could be the band's best to date....... it is absolutely almost certain that Steev and Simon will be descending upon us this weekend with marvellous tunes and enthralling tales of glamour and excess.......
Shut yer eyes, pray and it might just happen.

alasdair roberts returns........
Yes indeed, She Said is delighted to welcome back unique and compelling contemporary folk musician Alasdair Roberts for tonight's show where amongst other things he's promised..."tracks from Alan Lomax's fifties Scottish field recordings including an appearance from Annie Lennox's dad, some Gaelic bird song imitations and an ancient Gaelic ballad about the exploits of King Arthur, a bagpipe tune played on fiddle by the poet Norman MacCaig....!!" Oh, did we mention Alasdair will also be performing live in the studio during the show?

Well, it's been a long time coming! After extensive contract negotiations, empty promises of a rider comprising tonic wine and poppers and a whole range of delightful sexual favours from Crawford (at a time and place chosen by Allan) She Said is delighted to present Glasgow punk/hardcore legends Clocked Out, woop!!
Following an exclusive live set recorded 2 weeks ago before a charmed audience, band members are being rested in a luxury health spa before being chauffeured to the studio for 2 hours of musically debauched self-abuse and sordid chatter.
Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough.....

Oh aye, in more ways than one!
So as Derek takes a break on wedding duties (who the hell would invite Derek to a wedding?!), the show is graced with the diminutive but joyous presence of noise merchant and ahem social butterfly, Kenny Love. Famed for his legendary shapes on the dance floor, hedonistic leanings and unfathomable screaming vocals, Kenny has long since acquired 'friend of the show' status so it's about bloody time he stepped up to the mark to avail us of his unique view of the world. Aye...and he's got some right good music taste as well.

So it’s quite conceivable this show will see the mighty Lea Cummings (aka Kylie Minoise) crash into the Subcity Studio, blood cascading from a streaming head wound, microphone in hand, body writhing in jerking movements on the floor, pained screams fighting to be heard over a crescendo of loosely structured noise.
Alternatively, we might just settle for some informative and memorable chatter and get him to select a few tunes!!

small scale collisions exclusive!!!
You will not forget the first time you encounter Small Scale Collisions in real time. Their music resonates with pulses of energy and sound form, with sparkling tones sometimes apparent, occasionally implied. Words can be spoken whilst carefully crafted imagery focuses the stare. Aye, aye it’s that time again as She Said is very pleased to welcome the return of accomplished novelist, playwright, performer and undoubted music fan Alan Bissett to the show. Not only will he be terrifying us with tales of glamour and excess from this week’s New York Book Festival, we're sure to get a wee sneaky insight into his forthcoming novel set amidst the bedlam of Rangers 2008 UEFA cup final in Manchester.

metaphor!!
Aye metaphor, that's the word of the day. The She Said team's day (yeah that's right, we live together just like the Monkees used to) began with a mega hangover, that wasn't a metaphor though that was the real thing. Then the sun shone in Glasgow which in many ways was indeed metaphorical cos we always bring sunny happiness into yer Saturday evening or whenever you damn well listen.
And then we just had to play Squirrel Song by Shellac cos that's the only one we know with the word metaphor in the lyric.
So you see what we mean then? Aye? Good!

So once more She Said is delighted to welcome good friends from Electropaknit, Glasgow DIY label and promoters extraordinaire, back on the show. These are exciting times indeed as Al, Gav and Rikki will reveal with the release of their stunning new compilation of Scottish artists scheduled for 9 December. It will be quite a night too as label stalwarts (and only recently formed) Battery Fac) take to the stage in Glasgow's Winchester Club together with Galoshins, Mn Diesel and Public Spaces.

snowy sordid saturday fun.......
So it was a fine sunny winter's day in Glasgow, droplets of snow sparkled briefly in the late morning sunshine before disappearing effortlessly from memory. Just like that astonishingly beautiful piece of prose, She Said that very evening laid waste to your finely tuned senses as you lay helpless gasping at the sheer majesty of the experience.

Last weekend saw the clocks change as you know and most people merely gave a passing nod to the extra hour in bed and sighed, pleasingly and content. ex-wives in gigging action shock horror.....

blue sabbath black fiji take subcity by storm!!
What can we say about the awesome Blue Sabbath Black Fiji? Once upon a time, Charlie and Janin descended on Glasgow from their respective European homelands and proceeded to make the most awe-inspiring blend of rhythm-laden, oft improvised, beat drenched noise a soul could ever desire.
So in a frenzy of last minute activity, the band pre-recorded some exclusive live tracks for She Said in the afternoon and then joined the team in the studio to inspire us with their sounds, influences and tales of extensive touring across the wilderness lands of the USA and the Lake District. And yes, we were dancing to the gay disco choons in the studio, what of it?!

Watch out for the quiet ones at the back. Aye, because sometimes as you know, the soft and gentle can caress you gently and guide you in ignorant bliss towards certain oblivion!
Edinburgh's Eagleowl describe themselves as a 'lo-fi post folk ensemble' whilst the legendary 'anti-drum core' moniker offers another hint at an approach that encompasses engaging melodies and heart-warming harmonies. Once upon a time there were 2 Glasgow bands, Weenliz and Grozny Some people suggested they were d***s but this was not always true. Then a number of them bonded to form a strange new creature called Gropetown. Wisely, they chose a special female person to lift the gloomy maleness. Some people say they (the blokes) are still d***s but this is not always true.
This week on She Said they picked the tunes and talked pish.

back in business with alan bissett!!!
So after 3 weeks of tortured absence, the mighty She Said team returned to caress you aurally once more. And whit a show it turned out to be as acclaimed author, playwright, performer and music fan of frankly unimaginable taste, Alan Bissett, joined us with his impressively scary new haircut for some memorable tunes and chatter.
With only the slightest amount of suggestive nudging, Alan spoiled us with tales of Falkirk in ye olden days, his recent transformation to a one man woman and forthcoming delights on the Byres Road. Oh aye, and there's some stuff about books as well!
And yes, that is the Corries popping up on a truly unique playlist - when will we see yer likes again?!

mogwai action on subcity....
And so it came to pass the She Said team once again strode manfully where others fear to tread with an exclusive Mogwai event on Subcity. More precisely, this week's show featured the delightful presence of Stuart Braithwaite and Martin Bulloch and a beguiling mix of tunes and chatter.
And so we were given the low-down on the new film Burning, progress with current rehearsals, how Errors might just make the guys their fortune, Martin’s affairs of the heart and the potential for Mogwai incorporating bagpipes into a recording!

deathpodal could genuinely brighten your day....
Okay so here's the script.
Glasgow's newest independent label, Electropapknit Records, are about to celebrate their first release. The debut ep from Deathpodal is titled Exu_Wow and was recorded across Scotland featuring a variety of musicians including members of Copy Haho and PVH.
We here at She Said truly believe the view that Deathpodal bring together "post punk, DIY recording techniques, warm undulating melodies and a cacophony of instrumentation". Tonight, Alastair (the focal point of the collective) and Gav (collaborator and old friend of the show) joined us to preview the ep and chat in the loving sensual manner you’ve come to expect by now.

good citizenship for beginners.....
Once upon a time in Glasgow there were some really nice guys who got on quite well and decided to form a band. In this band there were guitars and drums and noisiness and shouting, quite a lot of shouting. It was decided this band would be called Citizens. Some observers described them as post-hardcore though She Said generally avoids such tempting labels.
Citizens have mounted a long-standing campaign to appear on She Said with letters, e-mails, endless drinks and offers of seemingly improbable sexual favours. Eventually our meagre resistance was worn down so today, ladies and gentleman of She Said land, we bring you the majesty that is Citizens.

Rest easy people in She Said land, normal business resumed tonight with a bang or should that be a noise as Derek and Allan combined energies and bodily fluids to bring you the Albini inspired loveliness that is Glasgow's Ex-Wives. More specifically, Alastair from the band inspired us with tales of metallic plectrums, occasional cross-dressing and outrageously underhand tactics at bar football in the 13th Note.
Oh aye, there were a few tunes as well.

amazing tunes just for you.......
Well it's true the tunes are amazing every week but tonight was no exception. She Said bring you the droney sound of Moon Duo for the first time, some gently melodic noise from the current album by Health, some classic punk rock by the Clash and some chaotic loveliness from Helmet and the Melvins. Oh aye, and despite yer worst fears, a truly memorable example of children singing beautifully courtesy of Yo La Tengo.

it's an atp saturday - off air at least!!
So as well as the show going out an hour earlier, She Said had a shorter programme this evening. This allowed the team the opportunity to interview ATP guru Barry Hogan at the ABC in Glasgow ahead of tonight's showing of the ATP film and Les Savy Fav gig which of course we enjoyed to the full! Tune in next week to hear the interview and some of Barry's favourite tunes.
Meantime, tune in tonight for some sounds of the usual high standard.

So after a rollercoaster start to the new season with guests galore from the Glasgow underground and beyond, tonight it was a less frantic affair. Join Derek and Allan as they relax, loosen their ties and quite frankly bring you some of the best shouty, punky, noisy loveliness there is with of course just a smidgeon or two of gentle mellowness.
It's like a pleasingly warm bath with loads of aromatic bubbles. Allow us to shift over, there's plenty room here for everybody......

apocalyptic goth?!?!
Intrigued?? Another first for Subcity as She Said bring you the amazing ethereal surf doom experience that is Vom. The band in their entirety hauled their sweaty bodies and charm into the studio together with a selection of their favourite music. Expect to hear some tracks from the outstanding debut album 'Primitive Arts' and some carefully crafted (!) insight into what makes Vom one of the most creative musical forces in Glasgow.

world exclusive as she said welcomes pat nevin!!
Well you lucky people, it doesn't get much better than this as the She Said team finished Subcity Radio's FM broadcast in style. This week we welcomed former Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Everton, Chelsea and Scotland winger Mr Pat Nevin on to the show. As well as picking a pile of tasty tunes, Pat entertained us with tales of glamour and excess and some special memories of John Peel. It was noisy, it was gripping, it was special!!

the glorious return of rock action heros errors
Fresh from gallivanting around Europe with Mogwai and shortly before taking off on their travels once more, Rock Action living legends Errors returned to their favourite radio show. As ever, they brought some cheerful tunes, indulged in some dodgy patter and shared one or two rock and roll adventures from their recent travels.

a bloke called phil
Derek and Allan are very pleased to introduce you to Phil. He plays in 2 strikingly different bands (Cerebral Bore and Rainbow Lick). He has a rather accomplished dad and his mum seems lovely as well. He contributed enormously to She Said's fascination with facial hair. And he's very well versed in the joys of homoerotic death metal!!
