knowing me knowing you, aha.....

She Said // 03.12.11

So the guests have been cast aside with carefree if not gay abandon. The studio lights have been softened, candlelight flickers suggestively whilst burning incense meanders causing occasional spluttering into the studio mics.

What is this nonsense? What delights will unfold in tonight’s show as Derek and Allan offering a comforting yet splendidly suggestive hand of support in what would otherwise be yer dampest hour? Well we're saying nothing so you'll have to damn well listen to find out!

Take a chance, take a chance, take a ch ch ch chance.....

errors bloody errors.......

She Said // 26.11.11

She Said would like to start a rumour with foundation.....it is possibly the absolute truth that legendary Rock Action layabouts Errors have a new album done and dusted in the can for imminent release...it is speculated a mighty tour is being readied for early in the New Year....it is whispered their new material could be the band's best to date....... it is absolutely almost certain that Steev and Simon will be descending upon us this weekend with marvellous tunes and enthralling tales of glamour and excess.......

Shut yer eyes, pray and it might just happen.

alasdair roberts returns........

She Said // 19.11.11

Yes indeed, She Said is delighted to welcome back unique and compelling contemporary folk musician Alasdair Roberts for tonight's show where amongst other things he's promised..."tracks from Alan Lomax's fifties Scottish field recordings including an appearance from Annie Lennox's dad, some Gaelic bird song imitations and an ancient Gaelic ballad about the exploits of King Arthur, a bagpipe tune played on fiddle by the poet Norman MacCaig....!!" Oh, did we mention Alasdair will also be performing live in the studio during the show?

Brace yourself for an experience unlike any other

clocked out live in yer sordid sweaty face!!!

She Said // 12.11.11

Well, it's been a long time coming! After extensive contract negotiations, empty promises of a rider comprising tonic wine and poppers and a whole range of delightful sexual favours from Crawford (at a time and place chosen by Allan) She Said is delighted to present Glasgow punk/hardcore legends Clocked Out, woop!!

Following an exclusive live set recorded 2 weeks ago before a charmed audience, band members are being rested in a luxury health spa before being chauffeured to the studio for 2 hours of musically debauched self-abuse and sordid chatter.

Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough.....

x

Posted at 18:35, 11th November 2011

well it's halloween isn't it, kind of....

She Said // 29.10.11

Not that it really matters in She Said land although ahead of some costumed and made up frolics in the bohemian quarter, we promise you a devilish programme with some off the wall musical selections and bewitching patter. Dodgy puns aside, we guarantee an unconventional mix of tunes where the only thing predictable will be your constant sense of amazement and arousal!

Get the face paint on, snuggle in to yer favourite zombie and go for it, woop!

just the two of us......

She Said // 22.10.11

About bloody time, 7 weeks into the new season before Derek and Allan get a chance to be alone, together, the two of us, no-one else in the room, not being distracted by Kenny Love stripping off provocatively.....just us and the hugely stimulated audience.

x

Posted at 12:28, 22nd October 2011

love is in the air....

She Said // 15.10.11

Oh aye, in more ways than one!

So as Derek takes a break on wedding duties (who the hell would invite Derek to a wedding?!), the show is graced with the diminutive but joyous presence of noise merchant and ahem social butterfly, Kenny Love. Famed for his legendary shapes on the dance floor, hedonistic leanings and unfathomable screaming vocals, Kenny has long since acquired 'friend of the show' status so it's about bloody time he stepped up to the mark to avail us of his unique view of the world. Aye...and he's got some right good music taste as well.

Happy days

kylie minoise walks with us.....

She Said // 08.10.11

So it’s quite conceivable this show will see the mighty Lea Cummings (aka Kylie Minoise) crash into the Subcity Studio, blood cascading from a streaming head wound, microphone in hand, body writhing in jerking movements on the floor, pained screams fighting to be heard over a crescendo of loosely structured noise.

Alternatively, we might just settle for some informative and memorable chatter and get him to select a few tunes!!

Let’s wait and see……

small scale collisions exclusive!!!

She Said // 01.10.11

You will not forget the first time you encounter Small Scale Collisions in real time. Their music resonates with pulses of energy and sound form, with sparkling tones sometimes apparent, occasionally implied. Words can be spoken whilst carefully crafted imagery focuses the stare. There is a very real sense of something new, urgent and compelling.

It is indeed a privilege that Gary and Ant will bless She Said with some material recorded exclusively for the show. We await their sounds, their words and their insight with a gently drawn breath.

cry parrot special!!

She Said // 24.09.11

In what promised to be a truly memorable DIY love-in, She Said was very pleased indeed to welcome Fielding Hope of Cry Parrot fame, independent promoter extraordinaire and organiser of some of Glasgow's most vibrant and cutting edge music events. We had absolute confidence the music selections would be as memorable as the mutual adoration although could only have dreamed of the beautifully chaotic (ahem) DIY ending!

Put on yer pyjamas and slippers and snuggle right in……

She Said // 17.09.11

Allan and Derek that's who!!

We know it's early doors for such sordid adventures but when you get an offer from Grainne Braithwaite, prominent Glasgow socialite and of course bastion of independent Scottish promoters Synergy Concerts, you don't wait to be asked twice! With an extraordinary Autumn/Winter schedule of gigs including Envy, Yann Tiersen, Dananananaykroyd, Explosions in the Sky and Omar Souleyman, what better time to get close and dirty.

Come and join the fun.

She Said // 10.09.11

How the summer flies in! As the nights and moods darken, there is still hope in the form of a brand new series of She Said. Coming at ya with an explosion of amazing guests old and new from Glasgow's musical underground and beyond....just you wait to see what we've got in store over the next couple of months!

So were we gonna start with a gentle meandering or a barely awake 'good evening'? No way, we started with an absolute belter as a mere 2 weeks away from launch of new album 'The Quickening' at Stereo in Glasgow, Remember Remember stalwarts Andy and Joanne joined us to rave about what those in the know (ie us!) believe to be quite simply the band's most outstanding venture to date. .

Why would you not want to enjoy the experience?

See ya there

Well kinda!

In the second last show of the season, She Said is proud to welcome Russell from Monorail, Glasgow's finest record store bar none. So we're bracing ourselves for epic drone, Scandinavian metal, 70s bands with questionable hair and of course gripping tells from the murky world of the indie music retail scene, woop!!

Listeners to She Said should be on bad pun alert as Glasgow readys itself for 2 fine gigs on one Saturday evening - Moon Duo in the Captains Rest and Moon Unit at the SW3. Gather your strength and rest yer loins ahead of the shows with some very fine tunes and dodgy patter.

sordid saturday??

She Said // 07.05.11

Well we can live in hope! It's probably fair to say though that the combination of Allan and Derek aka the She Said crew in the confined space of the lovely Subcity studio flooding the masses with our tremendous tunes and arousing patter is just about as sordid as it can get on an increasingly dreich Saturday evening.

So what are you waiting for, tune in and text or email yer abuse and we’ll shower you with sticky love!!

alan bissett returns.....

She Said // 30.04.11

Aye, aye it’s that time again as She Said is very pleased to welcome the return of accomplished novelist, playwright, performer and undoubted music fan Alan Bissett to the show. Not only will he be terrifying us with tales of glamour and excess from this week’s New York Book Festival, we're sure to get a wee sneaky insight into his forthcoming novel set amidst the bedlam of Rangers 2008 UEFA cup final in Manchester.

And of course there will be tunes, lots of them...

old skool punk pop anthemic loveliness!!

She Said // 16.04.11

Yup, for no reason whatsoever other than it seemed RIGHT, tonight’s show will feature some of the finest old skool punk/pop anthems the She Said team can lay their hands on including beautiful moments in time from Buzzcocks, Skids, Undertones, Jam etc…..and fear not for we shall not dwell solely in the past…..be ready to be moist!!

x

metaphor!!

She Said // 09.04.11

Aye metaphor, that's the word of the day. The She Said team's day (yeah that's right, we live together just like the Monkees used to) began with a mega hangover, that wasn't a metaphor though that was the real thing. Then the sun shone in Glasgow which in many ways was indeed metaphorical cos we always bring sunny happiness into yer Saturday evening or whenever you damn well listen.

And then we just had to play Squirrel Song by Shellac cos that's the only one we know with the word metaphor in the lyric.

So you see what we mean then? Aye? Good!

pat nevin returns!!!

She Said // 19.03.11

Yes indeed....charging straight for the Subcity studios direct from the results programme on BBC Sportscene, Pat entertained the masses with tales of footie, music and general life shenanigans. The patter was as amusing as it was revealing and there were some damn fine tunes to boot!

She Said luvs Pat Nevin and know you do too

The sun has got its hat on it seems and the She Said team are coming out to play once more. Re-united after 2 weeks of temporary separation, you will certainly feel the love in the air as Derek and Allan pleasure each other and you with some of the finest sordid noisiness on the internet.

The music's impressively awesome

So much so you won't possibly moan!

a sexy lady in her thirties pays a visit.....

She Said // 05.02.11

She's hardly what you would call an able replacement for Allan's dulcet tones but the She Said team eventually relented to Sandra's endless begging and offers of all things sordid. So tonight, she and Derek played some awesome tunes and got very silly indeed!!

x

Posted at 20:09, 9th February 2011

nice day for a punk/goth wedding......

She Said // 22.01.11

.......or something.

She Said had no reason whatsoever to apologise for a change to the scheduled programme as once more we welcomed back Josh (our first reserve stand-by substitute apparently) for some endearing punk/goth sparring with possibly the usual drivel about Echo and the Bunnymen being amazing (yawn!) and the supposed merits of J Mascis guitar solos (bleugh!).

Fear not, there were amazing tunes, the usual dodgy patter and lotsa loving in the air.

Aye.

She Said // 15.01.11

Okay, in a change of plan and mood, the She Said team is proud to dedicate tonight's show to Ben who tragically passed away this week. We know the richness and variety of music on the show is something he would have approved of.

Rest peacefully.

pop tunes!!

She Said // 11.12.10

Okay, so in the second last show of the year, She Said promises to bring you a splendid mix of loveliness and noisiness. With Derek temporarily out of action Allan wass joined by (ahem) goth legend Josh from Glasgow's finest psychedelic warlords The Cosmic Dead.

Expect the unexpected in all its glory.

electropapknit good times.....

She Said // 04.12.10

So once more She Said is delighted to welcome good friends from Electropaknit, Glasgow DIY label and promoters extraordinaire, back on the show. These are exciting times indeed as Al, Gav and Rikki will reveal with the release of their stunning new compilation of Scottish artists scheduled for 9 December. It will be quite a night too as label stalwarts (and only recently formed) Battery Fac) take to the stage in Glasgow's Winchester Club together with Galoshins, Mn Diesel and Public Spaces.

Hear tracks from the compilation, get the lowdown on the gig and savour all sorts of other sordid gossip from the guys. Oh, and get ready to shake yer bits!

Saturday it is.

snowy sordid saturday fun.......

She Said // 27.11.10

So it was a fine sunny winter's day in Glasgow, droplets of snow sparkled briefly in the late morning sunshine before disappearing effortlessly from memory. Just like that astonishingly beautiful piece of prose, She Said that very evening laid waste to your finely tuned senses as you lay helpless gasping at the sheer majesty of the experience.

Positively no frills and absolutely no money back guarantee required.

It was amazing.

x

Posted at 13:05, 27th November 2010

loveliness......

She Said // 20.11.10

.....and silliness and loudness and sordidness and punkiness and cheeriness and noisiness and blissfulness and darkness and droneness and madness and forgiveness and probably the Fall as well.

She Said is in yer hearts.

x

Posted at 09:46, 20th November 2010

please welcome the majesty of vom!!!!

She Said // 13.11.10

One day in the darkness of time and space, shape was given to a strangely beautiful creature that came upon us with energy and drone and melody. Sometimes the creature would not face us, preferring instead to look away, ignoring the many eyes transfixed in blissful contemplation. Noise swirling round our being.

So merely days ahead of a mouth-watering show in Glasgow, Chas from Vom joins the team with a heady eclectic mix of tunes and worldly wisdom.

Expect the unexpected, prepare to be moved.

x

Posted at 11:43, 13th November 2010

noise to caress you

She Said // 06.11.10

Last weekend saw the clocks change as you know and most people merely gave a passing nod to the extra hour in bed and sighed, pleasingly and content. For at least some of us though, a vortex appeared and we were transported into a nearby time/space continuum where all that once was, changed. Not necessarily in a bad way.

And so in this week’s She Said, the mighty team have shunned the prospect of guests and will relax in their own company to bring you some very fine musical and sexual experiences.

Yum yum

x

don't you dare forget!!!

She Said // 30.10.10

Remember Remember it’s nearly November

When Graeme’s new tune’s will be banging and tender

But will we be seeing the inflatable shark?

Or will it be left at home in the dark?

These and other dilemmas were possibly addressed today in some enthralling debate on She Said, the nation’s number one show for salacious sordidness and musical loveliness. Barely a week ahead of the band’s ep launch in Stereo, Rock Action hero Graeme Ronald returned to his favourite radio show to talk to the masses, endear us with some of his favourite tunes and some EXCLUSIVE new Remember Remember tracks. Oh aye and then there was Graeme's very special guest......

Our breaths were suitably bated.

x

Posted at 11:31, 30th October 2010

errors bloody errors!!!!

She Said // 23.10.10

They're everywhere you know - lurking in or behind a favourite bar near you, sneaking about the country with the Twilight Sad, playing a marvellous set to a baying mob in the Arches or spreading their dodgy patter and ‘arty’ photographs across the internet. AND better still on She Said!! Well Steev was for sure and with great majesty and aplomb he stepped up to the mark to co-host the show in the absence of a disease ridden Derek!

Hot stuff

ex-wives in gigging action shock horror.....

She Said // 16.10.10

They shout, they use bad language, they are splendidly crude, their plectrums are metallic, the silent moments in their songs can catch the unaware, they were once good looking, they are sometimes lazy shites, they have a new bassist, they are none other than the mighty EX-WIVES and She Said is totally gay for them.

So tonight, Alastair and Noel from the band joined us for some top tunes, teasing tittle-tattle and a look ahead to their long awaited return to live-ness next week.

Yaaaas!!

blue sabbath black fiji take subcity by storm!!

She Said // 09.10.10

What can we say about the awesome Blue Sabbath Black Fiji? Once upon a time, Charlie and Janin descended on Glasgow from their respective European homelands and proceeded to make the most awe-inspiring blend of rhythm-laden, oft improvised, beat drenched noise a soul could ever desire.

So in a frenzy of last minute activity, the band pre-recorded some exclusive live tracks for She Said in the afternoon and then joined the team in the studio to inspire us with their sounds, influences and tales of extensive touring across the wilderness lands of the USA and the Lake District. And yes, we were dancing to the gay disco choons in the studio, what of it?!

Get ready to be truly amazed

x

Posted at 07:35, 9th October 2010

heading for the cosmos!!

She Said // 02.10.10

If you're lucky enough to have experienced the mighty Cosmic Dead live, you'll be clinging on to vivid, joyous memories of hugely engaging and melodic psychedelic drone submerged in enough intensity and dry ice to leave you disorientated and breathless completely unable to find the way back to the bar, your seat or indeed yer sanity!

She Said have become huge fans as you shall hear in the weeks and months to come and this Saturday, we welcomed 3 band members to the studio for some tales from the other side and of course their very own selection of tunes which as we anticpated encomapassed the sublime to the ridiculous!!

Come and join the fun.

x

Posted at 09:45, 1st October 2010

alasdair roberts exclusive!!!

She Said // 12.06.10

And so for the final show before the summer break, She Said pulled out all the stops and was delighted to enrich yer weekend and life in the presence of contemporary folk troubadour Alasdair Roberts. With his carefully crafted take on traditional songs and sparklingly original compositions, Alasdair's worldly view is blessed with complex lyricism and hugely engaging melody.

Following recent dates in Australia and Europe and ahead of a new album, Alasdair joined the She Said team for tunes, chatter and an EXCLUSIVE LIVE TRACK.

What more could you ask?!

Posted at 10:28, 12th June 2010

surely not a hip-hop special?!

She Said // 05.06.10

Jings!!

Aye well, your punishment or perhaps reward for Allan's latest absence on mountain adventures is the delightful experience of Derek together with some specially chosen friends indulging in a long-awaited hip-hop special.

It's a first for She Said and if it's really good, it might happen again next year!!

eagleowl swoops on subcity!!

She Said // 29.05.10

Watch out for the quiet ones at the back. Aye, because sometimes as you know, the soft and gentle can caress you gently and guide you in ignorant bliss towards certain oblivion!

Edinburgh's Eagleowl describe themselves as a 'lo-fi post folk ensemble' whilst the legendary 'anti-drum core' moniker offers another hint at an approach that encompasses engaging melodies and heart-warming harmonies. Like its predecessors, recent ep 'Into the Fold' has received widespread acclaim in the specialist and mainstream media. She Said was very privileged to bring you an exclusive as the band bravely ventured west for some tunes, chatter and LIVE tracks performed for you from our small but perfectly formed studio.

It was of course special.

x

Posted at 12:35, 28th May 2010

for your aural pleasure!!

She Said // 22.05.10

It's sad but true to say there are only 4 weeks left of the current season although we still have some fine treats in store and promise we'll keep things going over the summer with links to some of the best shows on Facebook.

This weekend saw the last guest free She Said so it seemed fitting to let the miserable lowlife that is our audience have a wee bit of say in what goes down. So, we were gratefully overwhelmed with requests and abuse, played the choons and loved you on air

x

Posted at 11:10, 22nd May 2010

yaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy, we're back!!!!!!!!!!

She Said // 15.05.10

So taking full advantage of Allan's absence up the mounbtains, Derek launches into what we hope will be the first of many collaborations between She Said and Glasgow's finest toilet, sorry venue, the 13th Note. More to the point, Sandra (queen of the Note's back room and promotional activity) joins the second half of the show in a failed attempt to bring sanity to the proceedings. You have been warned!!

Posted at 20:39, 13th May 2010

fancy a good old grope?!

She Said // 01.05.10

Can you hear me now? Is this thing on? This could have been the end of radio, Said Said and indeed Subcity unless the team's intention to sedate this week's guests went to plan!

Once upon a time there were 2 Glasgow bands, Weenliz and Grozny Some people suggested they were d***s but this was not always true. Then a number of them bonded to form a strange new creature called Gropetown. Wisely, they chose a special female person to lift the gloomy maleness. Some people say they (the blokes) are still d***s but this is not always true.

This week on She Said they picked the tunes and talked pish.

See what you think.

x

back in business with alan bissett!!!

She Said // 24.04.10

So after 3 weeks of tortured absence, the mighty She Said team returned to caress you aurally once more. And whit a show it turned out to be as acclaimed author, playwright, performer and music fan of frankly unimaginable taste, Alan Bissett, joined us with his impressively scary new haircut for some memorable tunes and chatter.

With only the slightest amount of suggestive nudging, Alan spoiled us with tales of Falkirk in ye olden days, his recent transformation to a one man woman and forthcoming delights on the Byres Road. Oh aye, and there's some stuff about books as well!

And yes, that is the Corries popping up on a truly unique playlist - when will we see yer likes again?!

we're no awa' tae bide awa'.....

She Said // 03.04.10

You better believe it.

rememember remember is back in town.....

She Said // 27.03.10

Once more Graeme Ronald joined his boyhood heroes on She Said for some sweaty, entertaining and musically eclectic silliness. We obliged him to discuss some recent gigging experiences and future recordings, some of which were aired exclusively on the show.

There were erudite musings, extraordinarily informed cultural insights and a good time was had all round.

Brace yerselves

gentle, tuneful, makeshift but lovingly unkempt...

She Said // 13.03.10

So when we paused for a moment's reflection to think how best to describe our selections for tonight's amazing show, these were the words that graced our tongues. Not once did the words erotic, sensual or arousing come to mind yet inevitably and poetically all these sensations truly did fill the room and meander over the airwaves.

I guess you would have expected no less.

Yes indeed.

mogwai action on subcity....

She Said // 06.03.10

And so it came to pass the She Said team once again strode manfully where others fear to tread with an exclusive Mogwai event on Subcity. More precisely, this week's show featured the delightful presence of Stuart Braithwaite and Martin Bulloch and a beguiling mix of tunes and chatter.

And so we were given the low-down on the new film Burning, progress with current rehearsals, how Errors might just make the guys their fortune, Martin’s affairs of the heart and the potential for Mogwai incorporating bagpipes into a recording!

And nobody mentioned football once!

Glasgow's newest independent label, Electropapknit Records, are about to celebrate their first release. The debut ep from Deathpodal is titled Exu_Wow and was recorded across Scotland featuring a variety of musicians including members of Copy Haho and PVH.

We here at She Said truly believe the view that Deathpodal bring together "post punk, DIY recording techniques, warm undulating melodies and a cacophony of instrumentation". Tonight, Alastair (the focal point of the collective) and Gav (collaborator and old friend of the show) joined us to preview the ep and chat in the loving sensual manner you’ve come to expect by now.

Listen in, check out the links and tell us what you think.

Whilst we're at it, this is your last chance to win 2 Fuck Buttons tickets for the show at the Arches on 24 April. Just message the show's address above with the name of the first Fuck Buttons album. One lucky person will have their name drawn from the hat live on air on the show on 27 February. Cheers to Grainne at Synergy Concerts for the tickets.

noisy new year niceness from she said

She Said // 16.01.10

And so the She Said team emerged from the frozen wastelands unscathed, brushing aside musical mediocrity to embrace all that is noisy and right in the world. Tonight, the requests were flowing thick and fast inspiring both musical treats and an impromptu outburst of poetic creativity!

good citizenship for beginners.....

She Said // 05.12.09

Once upon a time in Glasgow there were some really nice guys who got on quite well and decided to form a band. In this band there were guitars and drums and noisiness and shouting, quite a lot of shouting. It was decided this band would be called Citizens. Some observers described them as post-hardcore though She Said generally avoids such tempting labels.

Citizens have mounted a long-standing campaign to appear on She Said with letters, e-mails, endless drinks and offers of seemingly improbable sexual favours. Eventually our meagre resistance was worn down so today, ladies and gentleman of She Said land, we bring you the majesty that is Citizens.

Wayhaay!!

x

previously married women are coming for you!!

She Said // 28.11.09

Rest easy people in She Said land, normal business resumed tonight with a bang or should that be a noise as Derek and Allan combined energies and bodily fluids to bring you the Albini inspired loveliness that is Glasgow's Ex-Wives. More specifically, Alastair from the band inspired us with tales of metallic plectrums, occasional cross-dressing and outrageously underhand tactics at bar football in the 13th Note.

Oh aye, there were a few tunes as well.

Outstanding.

x

Posted at 12:58, 28th November 2009

amazing tunes just for you.......

She Said // 07.11.09

Well it's true the tunes are amazing every week but tonight was no exception. She Said bring you the droney sound of Moon Duo for the first time, some gently melodic noise from the current album by Health, some classic punk rock by the Clash and some chaotic loveliness from Helmet and the Melvins. Oh aye, and despite yer worst fears, a truly memorable example of children singing beautifully courtesy of Yo La Tengo.

Go on, you know you want to.....

x

Posted at 16:26, 13th November 2009

no kidding!!!

She Said // 31.10.09

No nonsense, no gimmicks, no sitting on the fence, no guests (not tonight anyway!), just the nicest noise you'll hear all night.

No excuse really.........

it's an atp saturday - off air at least!!

She Said // 24.10.09

So as well as the show going out an hour earlier, She Said had a shorter programme this evening. This allowed the team the opportunity to interview ATP guru Barry Hogan at the ABC in Glasgow ahead of tonight's showing of the ATP film and Les Savy Fav gig which of course we enjoyed to the full! Tune in next week to hear the interview and some of Barry's favourite tunes.

Meantime, tune in tonight for some sounds of the usual high standard.

she said love in!!

She Said // 17.10.09

So after a rollercoaster start to the new season with guests galore from the Glasgow underground and beyond, tonight it was a less frantic affair. Join Derek and Allan as they relax, loosen their ties and quite frankly bring you some of the best shouty, punky, noisy loveliness there is with of course just a smidgeon or two of gentle mellowness.

It's like a pleasingly warm bath with loads of aromatic bubbles. Allow us to shift over, there's plenty room here for everybody......

She Said // 10.10.09

Intrigued?? Another first for Subcity as She Said bring you the amazing ethereal surf doom experience that is Vom. The band in their entirety hauled their sweaty bodies and charm into the studio together with a selection of their favourite music. Expect to hear some tracks from the outstanding debut album 'Primitive Arts' and some carefully crafted (!) insight into what makes Vom one of the most creative musical forces in Glasgow.

And what's more, tonight they crammed into the She Said studio for some sweaty, intimate and glorious sounds and chat.

She Said // 26.09.09

On tonight's show, the She Said team were delighted to bring you an exclusive interview with mighty noise merchants Part Chimp recorded just before their outrageously impressive show in Stereo the previous evening. And of course we played tracks from their new and seriously loud album 'Thriller' not to mention a wee classic oldie as well.

All this plus the usual eclectic mix of punky, DIY noisiness.

Not only did we try to establish what makes one of Glasgow's finest most innovative bands tick, we also got an exclusive low down on next week's awesome underground Glasgow festival.

Yes indeed. After months of negotiation and payment of exorbitant fees, the She Said team were delighted to announce we were joined this week by the brains and brawn behind promoters Synergy Concerts, the very lovely Grainne Braithwaite.

Not to be outdone by the legendary appearance on the show some months ago by Stuart 'I only ever wanted to be a gay icon' Braithwaite, Grainne will overwhelm you with good music, excite you about the many, awesome forthcoming Synergy gigs and the inner most secrets of her hair straighteners collection!

She Said // 14.03.09

Well you lucky people, it doesn't get much better than this as the She Said team finished Subcity Radio's FM broadcast in style. This week we welcomed former Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Everton, Chelsea and Scotland winger Mr Pat Nevin on to the show. As well as picking a pile of tasty tunes, Pat entertained us with tales of glamour and excess and some special memories of John Peel. It was noisy, it was gripping, it was special!!

the glorious return of rock action heros errors

She Said // 07.03.09

Fresh from gallivanting around Europe with Mogwai and shortly before taking off on their travels once more, Rock Action living legends Errors returned to their favourite radio show. As ever, they brought some cheerful tunes, indulged in some dodgy patter and shared one or two rock and roll adventures from their recent travels.

Here's what some folks had to say about their last appearance in November:

"Frankly, Errors make Barry Burns sound like an amateur musician, I must have them support us in Europe, I'm going to make it happen" - an apparently drunk Stuart Braithwaite from Mogwai.

"Jings, I never realised Greg was American, thanks She Said" - Simon from Errors speaking from his sick bed.

"Being so close to Errors was a truly arousing experience, I may never chat to a girl again" - Derek, She Said presenter.

Tune into She Said on Saturdays from 6-7pm.

whit a right fruity bunch!!

She Said // 07.02.09

So, usually when Derek's left to his own devices, he dances round the studio naked, rejoicing in his own company. However, bereft and inconsolable with Allan off to the mountains, desperation drives him to invite local noisy reprobates United Fruit into the studio for a bit of music and chat. And would you believe, they turn out to be lovely people with damn fine taste.

Enjoy....

For aw that and aw that pish!!

It was totally unintentional but fate collided with the She Said team and saw us working our way through a number of requests on this week's show. Despite goddam cold/flu things, the She Said team teased the good people of Subcity land with some classic American punk, classic grunge, classic Fall, soon to be classic Japanese noise and a totally classic acoustic moment from Whiteinch, Glasgow.

Beautiful it was.

errors on she said

She Said // 27.12.08

And so it came to pass that the final She Said of 2008 was a bit of a blinder with Steev and Greg from the mighty Errors joining Derek and Allan in the studio for musical fun and frolics.

They were poked and prodded about the band's most successful year to date, the planned Hogmanay madness in Glasgow and their inexplicable love of dodgy disco!

Yes they picked most of the playlist so be warned.....

Derek and Allan are very pleased to introduce you to Phil. He plays in 2 strikingly different bands (Cerebral Bore and Rainbow Lick). He has a rather accomplished dad and his mum seems lovely as well. He contributed enormously to She Said's fascination with facial hair. And he's very well versed in the joys of homoerotic death metal!!
