FareWell To Old Friends

Source Tags and Mixtapes // 1700-1800 29.10.11

we carry on

This is the first of two planned episodes of Source Tags & Mixtapes within the space of a week. Paul McLaughlin guests as we broadcast before attending local band Dananananaykroyd's final ever Glasgow show. We follow up the opening track from their second and last album with a classic single from one of Scotland's most loved bands The Delgados. Scottish music double blow.

There's also some great post-rock flavoured stuff from FareWell Poetry - the recommended record this week is their debut "Hoping For The Invisible To Ignite". Also here: New Wavves (feat. members of Fucked Up), underrated Smashing Pumpkins stuff and some nice trip-hoppy sounds from Phantogram. There's also a track from Ripple'Field (Aaron Kelley from Airs' solo project) which we enjoyed so much words failed us. Paul put it better when he reviewed the debut album over at his Youtube channel.

Tune in post-halloween (Nov. 1st 00.00 - 02.00) for a (hopefully) guest-heavy halloween themed show. We'll be giving away 2 tickets to (MF) DOOM at the Arches, so get on it.
