the count & sinden

Subcity Presents... // 21.11.09 // The Count & Sinden

As you lot probably already know, The Count and Sinden headlined Death Disco in The Arches on Saturday night. If you didn't manage to get a ticket, or are just such a die-hard fan that you'd jump at the chance to hear them again, you won't believe what we've got in store for you.

The duo agreed to come into Subcity to start the party early with a pre-club warm up on Saturday evening live on air. We invited some of you lot to come up and chill in the Green Room while they're on air, and turned the place into a packed-out sweatbox for the show --it was a legendary night which will definitely be going down in Subcity history.

Have a look at Subcity's flickr page for some photos of those idiots who made it down.

Subcity Presents... // 07.03.09 // Optimo

Subcity Presents brings you a gem of a show tonight, with the boys from the Sub Clubs masisvely popular Optimo night giving us an exclusive recording of their recent gig in melbourne. If the Sunday nights at Optimo are anything to go by, this will be brilliant. As stated on their website -

"while there will be sections of the night when the dancefloor is being rocked by the latest disposable dance / pop hit, you are also likely to hear music that you are unlikely to ever hear in any club anywhere"

The sound at Optimo is truly diverse, it's just good music that makes you want to dance.

r-p-z dee jays

Subcity Presents... // 28.09.08 // R-P-Z Dee Jays

R-P-Z (the artists formerly known as Record Playerz) host their nightclub every Thursday at the Glasgow school of art. Each week you can experience digital stimulation, non-stop dancing, bent disco, wrong sounds…

Without dishonest hype or leaching off the fame of budget-busting guests to inflate its reputation, the club sells out (often turning away hundreds of punters) week after week after week, providing Glasgow with one of its most exciting resident based club events, and squarely placing R-P-Z among the top clubs in Scotland.

Following on from their shows last year on Subcity and their sell out appearance at the station's research club party in March, R-P-Z return to the sweaty Subcity studio for 2 hours of aural arousal.
