party // subcity // variedmusic

Subcity is going on holiday. It's been a broadcast year of throwing parties, getting no sleep, sticking djs in sweatboxes, late-night music rammies of questionable legality - we need a break.

This summer we thought we'd try something different. We're going to the best parties, getting no sleep, hanging with djs in sweatboxes, getting kicked out of late-night music rammies of questionable legality... and recording it all so we can pretend we were there for work all along.

Subcity will be undertaking the thankless task of hitting up the fully dopest parties we can. We'll be laboriously trawling through hours of fresh jams; walking miles of sticky, drink-splattered close floors; and kicking it with every idiot that wants to freak in the comfort of someone else's home - all for the sake of capturing some of the sounds of the city in summer... sounds better than your interailing chat bitchez.

Subcity's Summer Job // 13.07.10

At the Art School's infamous street party; the street gets locked down, carry outs are welcome, a solid soundsystem gets installed and that Mackintosh building is the backdrop for a summer night party. If you jump inside, your eyeballs get the sweats struggling to fix on just a single ellipsis amongst the thousands of fonts on displays at the designer's back-to-back stalls. This year after all the work and free booze got locked behind doors, Thunder Disco Club celebrated their first birthday with their "own brand of audio-visual disco-xploitation", cranking their signature sexualised sci-fi imagery up another notch with 360 visuals provided by Subcity's new designer Joe Crogan. Their aesthetic heavy nights are soundtracked by the boys' beddable disco, alluring house, and Hi-NRG Italo - its made for dancing.
