whoopin' the blues

Matt Nicol, a friend and blues enthusaist, joins Tarantism in the studio to share his extensive knowledge of one of the most soulful and influential music genres of the 20th Century.

In its infancy, Mississippi Delta Blues encapsulated the pain and suffering of an entire generation of African-American slaves in the deep south of the USA, and moved north during The Great Migration of the 40s to the 'motor-cities' of Chicago and Detriot where the more modern "Chicago Blues' sound was born.

Matt takes us through this journey of music, as well has his own personal exploration of the Blues genre, and helps us realise how the majority of contemporary music as we know it lends itself to the music of the blue devils.
