raresh

The Tech House // 10.02.11 // Turn that s@#t around on em'

Following his move to Bucharest, in 2003, Raresh faced the Romanian capital's night life. His talent as a DJ shone through and successfully distinguished him from the other young Romanian DJs operating at the time and he was invited to play at the Black Sea beach parties in the summer of 2004. Shortly afterwards Raresh joined the Sunrise Booking Agency and in 2005 he had the opportunity to play warm-up for the artists he admired. Securing a full summer residency for all the Sunrise events at the Black Sea Coast, he shared the stage with the likes of Richie Hawtin, Magda, Steve Bug, Josh Wink, Pascal FEOS, Troy Pierce, Marc Houle, Pier Bucci and Tobi Neumann. The developement of his work continued with the opening of the Luciano & Thomas Melchior event in Bucharest. Next step was the invitation to mix in East Club in Frankfurt on Christmas Day of 2005, where Raresh played together with Toni Rios, Chris Wood and Frank Lorber.

Back home, the young DJ became part of one of the most important moments in the Romanian clubbing scene, with The Sound Of The Sixth Season World Tour 2006, where he played back to back with Chris Tietjen the warm-up for german techno legend Sven Väth. By March 2006 Raresh was warming up for Ricardo Villalobos, who claimed to be impressed by his style of mixing, leading to them playing back to back at the after-party that followed the event in Bucharest.

Raresh has developed a unique and special style, combining minimal, tech-house with house in a warm and powerful way. One of Raresh's strong beliefs is that a DJ is not a complete artist until he becomes a producer, and that there is always something more to learn and practice in music. Together with his friends Rhadoo and Pedro he founded in 2007 the romanian electronic music label called [a:rpia:r]. Their debut vinyl contains also Raresh first production called "Dry Tool".
