With the return of Theez Boyz R Athletes, we thought we'd kick off the new session in suitably bombastic style. And so it is with great pleasure that we invite you to tune in to Galaxian's Broken Britain Mix.

Galaxian's been on our radar for a long time and we're seriously psyched to have secured this exclusive mix from him. We'd recommend you give this a listen, your ears will appreciate it.

'Based in Glasgow, Scotland, the grimey murder capital of Europe provides the perfect environment for Galaxian's distinctive take to the electronic sound.

Influenced by the purveyor's of classic Detroit techno, UK electronica and more recently the myriad hybrid sounds and styles which are now at the forefront of electronic music. 'Fancy & Spook have known each other longer than they haven't. They've been making music almost as long as that, most of it electronic.

They have released two 12”s so far, both on Glasgow based Heatray Records. The Detroit influenced electro of their “We Had The Technology” EP received the Dave Clarke seal of approval on release in 2006. 2008's “Extended Peril” EP saw their sound come closer to home with British bleeps and bass coming to the floor.

They specialise in live performance, taking as much of their analogue gear as they can carry and an MPC full of home-made loops with them to thoroughly road-test their sound. They are named after two cartoon cats and their favourite decades are the Fifties and Twenties.'

dj squish kibosh mix!

Theez Boyz R Athletes // 29.01.11 // DJ SQUISH KIBOSH MIX!

Banished from his home planet for a crime he didn't commit, Squish Kibosh drifted aimlessly through interstellar space for millennia, desperately trying to uncover the true culprit of his accused felony so as to clear his name and reintegrate with the Flaxarian hive mind from which he'd been expelled. All leads exhausted, Squish reluctantly came to accept that he would never return to Nomicron Delta 5 nor see his beloved gastropod clutch ever again. With 14 heavy hearts Squish resolved to seek out a new home, somewhere he could be accepted, where his past wouldn't haunt him. After much searching he finally discovered a certain little blue planet he now considers home. Uranus. It was here he remained in exile, all hope of returning to his beloved place of gestation gone forever.

Theez Boyz first became aware of the plight of Squish during a charity fundraiser for victims of the Arcturian timequake that had left so many without adequate age. It was at this fundraiser that we had the honour of meeting Krom Krabash envoy to Nomicron Delta 5 who, over a plate of crabs, happened to mention the curious case of Squish Kibosh. Intrigued, and always interested in interfering with the justice systems of alien planets Theez Boyz decided to get involved. Word was sent to Uranus that Theez Boyz were on the case. Squish appeared in Glasgow soon after.

By way of thanking us for our efforts in trying to clear his name, Squish decided to repay us in the traditional Earth manner. By creating an astounding mix of hip hop, acid and electro that would convey his inner most feelings of gratitude. Having 17 tentacles benefited greatly.

And so, this Saturday Theez Boyz will be proudly presenting Squish Kiboosh's "Hand's Across The Galaxy Mix." Tune in at ten or listen again whenever you please.

This week on Theez Boyz R Athletes, we'll be presenting you with a mix from none other than Mr. Mick Wills. Soon to arrive in Glasgow to entrance the dancefloor at the next Slabs Of The Tabernacle Event (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=103131446423636), Mick was more than happy to give us the green light to play out one of his exquisite demo mixes.

Younger brother of Bruce Wills, Mick strove from an early age to carve his own unique path in life. Whereas Bruce chose to dawn blood spattered vests, jump down air vents and shout "Yippeekayay!" whilst blowing various things up at Christmas, Mick chose to bring about world peace and increased homelands security through music. So it was at the tender age of 14 he set off, with nothing but a 10% discount voucher for Hardwax in his pocket, a pair of Technics under his arm and a gritty determination not to blow things up at Christmas. His journey has been a long one and his obsession with music that started as a child has brought him far. In the two decades he's been Djing, his electro-minimal, vintage Chicago, Detroit, italo, hi nrg, and acid fusing sets have thus far damaged no municipal buildings.

After last week's dimensional shift induced hiatus, Theez Boyz R Athletes are back! And we're glad to report that we made it through to Dimension B unscathed. Well relatively unscathed. Romance has acquired a taste for human flesh and Layman's knees appear to be inside out, but apart from that we're A-OK and raring to go!

As much as none of us like to admit it, as we sit around smothered in week old body paint, Halloween (or "Satan Day" as Romance and Layman like to call it) has been and gone. So pack up your sexy monk/sexy fish/sexy bus driver costumes, sweep the mountain of half eaten Freddos towards the bin, let the children out of your basement and join us tonight for some post scarefest mega tuneage.

Following his release from a Tijuana prison earlier this week Hustlin' Hektor Ruiez met up with us on Wednesday to hand over this exclusive 'Woolworths' mix. 45 months inside one of Mexicos toughest jails has done little to alter the warped head of Ruiez, 61, and over a plate of his customary fish and eggs Hektor was keen to put to bed fresh allegations surroundng his private life. Both Layman and Romance were shocked recently to read about claims 'The Quiet Man of Bargain Bin Rave' had spearheaded a plot to secretly convert a Chilean primary school into a meth kitchen. We asked Hekto for answers and he gave us this mix. Tune in on Saturday night for all the sordid details.

As the title suggests, Theez Boyz are back on air this Friday at the new time of 10PM to Midnight. Tune in for the usual Theez Boyz mix of pounding electro and wonky/wobbly dubstep.

The first show back will be currated by Jamie NASA as Apesod will be off to catch The Bug in Belfast. Don't worry though there'll be a brand new mix all sorted and ready to go Friday night as well as jamie's impeccable pick of dubstep cuts.

There will be no Theez Boyz R Athletes tonight, as I'll be attending a charity fundraising ceilidh at the Woodside Social. The place is booked from 7:30PM till 2AM so after the ceilidh band pack up at around half 11, Jamie from NASA and I will be pumping out the tunes till the end of the night. It's £10 a ticket on the door and all the funds raised will be going to a Malawian orphanage. Should be a good night. JOIN US!
