it's a bit shouty isn't it?

The Other Side // 08.12.08 // It's a bit shouty isn't it?

Some seriously good discordant, shouty music has been released lately in Aus and this week we’re looking at the best of it. Grimy and angsty, this week we’re playing Snowman, the Drones, Ground Components and the King of all recent angst, Nick Cave.

procrastination?

The Other Side // 01.12.08 // Procrastination

As many of us knuckle down into the deary world of exams we here at the Other Side are looking at giving you a soundtrack to go with it. Some lovely laidback numbers to wash over you but not distract as stress levels increase. Going instrumental with the Dirty Three and Mono and blissful with the Art of Fighting.

for arguments sake...

The Other Side // 24.11.08 // For arguments sake

What do you do when you can’t stand something? Find someone who loves it to argue with. Hooray! And that’s why Pop Goes The Revolutions George is coming in today to discuss the merits of Operator Please and a song about Ping Pong. Otherwise we’re heading into better known and poppier tunes today with Betchadupa, Gotye and the Panics all making an appearance.

a line full of fenders

The Other Side // 17.11.08 // A line of Fenders

Having been inspired by a brilliant gig by Built to Spill last week I’ve been reminded about the deliciousness of that distorted, fuzzed out guitar that was everywhere in the 90s. So this week we’re celebrating them and that decade that seems so long ago by playing some great chunky, grungey music from the other side of the Pacific. Listen out for Screamfeeder, Magic Dirt, Radio Birdman and Mono
