Wrestling the Radio Down

The Vile Arts Radio Hour // 1500-1700 11.02.11

getting ready to rumble

Reports coming in from an unknown location suggest that Vile is already researching for the show's tenth anniversary - how else can the huge backlog of interviews be explained? He is promising an appearance from Zoe Van Goey, more tracks from their new album, alongside the final instalment of the interview with Rob Drummond and words from anyone else not fast enough to escape his roving mike. At the latest estimate, these include chats with his next door neighbour, members of every contemporary dance company on the West Coast and some toddlers using the Tramway.

Exclusive new tracks include a sample from Fur Hood - soon to be seen live at Mono - and a track from Alex Smoke's exciting new score for Faust, part of the Glasgow Film Festival, flying the flag for dynamic contemporary classical composition.

Meanwhile, Producer Harry and Vile are in a competition to see who can provide the most relevant tracks for the film festival. An interview with cast members of Junction 25, who are performing a farewell to their celebrated study of family relationships, another with rising songwriter Andrea Heins and a guest slot from the Not So Secret Society are all arranged, and Vile's psychiatrist has promised that his tendency to forget what he is talking about, or launch into post-modern analysis of Glasgow's performance scene, will be lessened by the new regime of drugs.
