A Pair of Oddballs

The Vile Arts Radio Hour // 1500-1700 28.01.11

first live show (recording)

Having been separated by competing timetables, Performance Critic Gareth K Vile and his producer Harry finally team up on air for their weekly look at Glasgow, and Scotland's cultural highlights. Vile races between the UK Theatre School, The Tramway,The Arches and the studio, seeking out burlesque theatre, wrestling theatre and Pecha Kucha, while Harry tries to clear up the mess this ex-Latin teaching neophyte contact improviser leaves behind.

Fortunately, the arrival of Adam Ketterer, drummer in Glasgow's There Will Be Fireworks brings some semblance of order, while Des O'Connor, Gypsy Charms, Chris Wilson and Rob Drummond all manage to get the occasional word in between Vile's monologues. Musical choices include plenty of rare tracks - an exclusive from Fireworks, a trinity of cheeky cabaret singalongs from O'Connor and a pair of tracks from Crystal Castles that cause further bickering in the studio.
