Vitamins // 08.02.12 // Double Trouble
With two parties in two cities, this weekend is shaping up to be our most hectic yet. For this weeks show, Tuff Wax crooner Yoin has done a 25 minute mix, featuring some of his own forthcoming material, ahead of his appearance in Aberdeen on Friday. Shaun & Sam will be also going through songs they are likely to include in their sets as well as some of their favourite cuts from both Lone & Mosca.
We're giving away a pair of tickets for both events. To enter, post the word Glasgow or Aberdeen with a link to a song that reminds you of either city on our facebook
A winner for each city will be chosen at random and announced on air.

With the pyramids and diamonds of New Year fading into the sunset, it's time to get the ball well and truly rolling for 2012 with a residents only radio special. No themes or set genres, just Shaun & Sam on the decks, playing new and forthcoming material picked up in the past 4 weeks as well as favourites that always seem to sit at the top of the crate.
With February shaping up to be our busiest month so far we'll be revealing more details of our upcoming parties, shows and dj spots.

With just over a week to go til our Hogmanay party with Numbers, we're piling everyone involved into the studio for a one off festive special.
Over two hours, music will be provided by Jackmaster, Spencer, Bake & Ryan All Caps, Bamboo Palace and Shaun & Sam Vitamins, giving you an idea of what's in store over both floors of Stereo. 80s Funk, R&B, House, Techno & the Jeff Mills version of Jingle Bells all expected

The first of our episodes running up to New Year. This one is dedicated to real party music. The kind of songs that never fail to go off be it at the Christmas party, works night out, wedding reception or club.
A tribute to 80s screamers, Motown, Disco, Funk & Soul - Sam and Shaun will be in the studio belting out the pointer sisters and getting into trouble for misusing the photocopier.

It's residents only today, as Shaun and Sam again go through music they've picked in the past two weeks. Expect new & forthcoming material from Zomby, Helix, Cessa, Om Unit, L Vis & the first play of a special collaboration between four of Glasgow's finest. There'll be a few classics thrown in for good measure too.
We'll also be talking more about what we have planned for New Year with Numbers.

After a hectic two months, this weeks show is all about looking forward. Shaun and Sam take time to run through their favourite new and forthcoming releases picked up in the last few weeks. Selections include forthcoming material from Goldffinch, HaHaHa & Raksha, Darling Farah & DJ Akeera as welll as new songs from Dam-Funk, ANGO, Luke Vibert, Africa HiTech and tracks taken from recent PlanetMu, Factory Records and Rush Hour compilations.

Ahead of our collaboration with HYP in the Sub Club this Friday, we'll be joined in the studio by Mixed Bizness kingpin, ginger and all round good guy Boom Monk Ben, who'll be schooling us with a 30 minute mix. He's getting the night off to eat birthday cake and dance to Seiji, Objekt and Lando Kal after all.
As this is our first Halloween party, we'll be pulling out a couple of tricks and plenty of treats to turn the Sub Club into the kind of bassment you wouldn't normally want to be in. Not for the faint hearted.

One hour special ahead of Vitamins 6, where Sam & Shaun will be going through some of the songs they have prepared for their set on Saturday and revealing details of the club setup. There'll also be forthcoming material from Fatima & Floating Points, Arp 101, KRTS and Lockah.
Baobinga was kind enough to do an exclusive mix and interview for the show, where he discusses Jungle, the Bristol Scene and making beats in an old bank vault.

Sam and Shaun didn't manage to get on the decks at Vitamins 5 – this show will be the replacement. A ghettotech / juke / footwork set was planned for Vitamins 5 so this will be no different. An homage to booty.

Ahead of Vitamins 5 on Saturday, Shaun & Sam will be joined in the studio by some of the acts who are playing for a special 2 hour warm up session. Aunite Flo, Smiddy & Hektor Ruiez will be on the decks whilst Cur$es are hauling their synths and MPCs up to perform a live session for us.

Vitamins // 31.05.11 // In memory of the Vic
Sam is back on Scottish soil to join Shaun and the rest of the vitamins crew in the studio for a 2 hour special dedicated to the Glasgow institution of Thursday nights up The Arty.
Featuring interviews and selections from Dema from Freakmoves, Hushpuppy from Record Playerz, Ben from Mixed Bizness, Andrew Devine and Felonious Munk; this is a documentation of 30 years of dancing in the soon to be demolished and much loved Vic Bar.
Also joining Shaun & Sam in the studio is vitamins family member S-Type who will be previewing some of his new material ahead of his set at The Vitamins Art School Takeover this Thursday.
How many £1 pints of Tennent's have you consumed over the years? ? What was your favourite era, guest, night? Bob or Brian?
Note: Apologies for the sound quality during the first hour. We managed to fix it by flipping the on/off swtich while having a 30 second silence for the Art School's passing.

After a 2 month break, Vitamins Radio kicks starts this week with Shaun alone in the studio with a crate of new releases and rediscovered classics. He hasn't slept but that's never stopped him before.
We've been keeping it fairly quiet recently but we have big plans coming up for summer and the rest of the year. So keep an eye out for new mixes, parties and a new home for all things Vitamins.
Sorry for leaving you like that. It won't happen again. Promise.

A round up to the Vitamins 3 party on Saturday night. Sam will be joined by Boabenz & Ferg, and playing the tunes he didn't get to drop at the weekend due to a misplaced USB.

Ahead of Saturday's party we've got a little get together planned for the Subcity sweatbox.
Resident fandans Shaun and Sam are on the hosting duties with guest fandans on the studio decks including: Jackmaster, S-Type, Raksha, Masha, Bamboo Palace and Mia Dora. It's Vitamins' first full length show on Subcity. About time, aye.
Sam and Shaun along with Radio Magnetics' Matthew Sweeney, chew the fat and play the bits of the soundtrack to their weekend they can remember, with tracks from Lunice, Ramadanman, Black Sheep, C.R.S.T, new releases from Glasgow's very own S-Type and a mix by Shaun of recent releases from Numbers, Planet Mu and Fortified.
Also the first reveal of the details of the next Vitamins Party aka Vitamins 3.

The boys charmed the neighbours, blacked out the windows, got all carpets and soft furnishings to fuck, filling two floors and the garden -back lane entrance only. The garden to the stairs to the main party room were rammed with Glasgow's most up for it. Jongerre and Darrell come into full force with their most rowdy dubstep, grime, booty, garage and hiphop tunes.
