Glasgow has been a ghost town for as long as any intergalactic gunslinger can remember. Clouds of glistening space dust whirl through its streets and lone, tentacled tumbleweeds roll gently past rusted saloons. Only a mad town crier remains on the corner, ringing a bell, telling of a long-forgotten alien hoedown.
His bell shatters. He falls. A gunshot echoes. A tall, mysterious cowperson unmounts a six-legged alien steed at the end of town, blowing smoke from the barrel of a gun. A rickety rootin’ tootin’ spacecraft appears, lands, and from it appears another cowpoke, hand hovering over a holstered laser-blaster.
More arrive, and finally eight space wranglers from across the galaxy convene in Stereo, answering the crier’s call. A cautious nod of acknowledgement, and they holster their weapons. Before them lies a strange device, alien to all of them. Two large discs stare up at them among a sea of knobs and buttons.
The eight chosen buckaroos know they must spend the night trying to harness its power. Or die trying.
