Subcity vs Concept Theory

Subcity Radio & Concept Theory Promotions team up to present.....

Best known for his MASSIVE summer crossover chart hit and Euro 2004 theme tune, Happy, one time drummer for Roni Size, Max Sedgley makes his Glasgow debut on Friday 3rd of June.

Since last summer he’s taken his party rocking sets around the world and been a mainstay on the Sunday Best Monster Tour as well as putting the finishing touches to his debut album.

You’d be hard pressed to find a DJ more in tune with the spirit of Subcity so expect just about everything thrown into the mix to keep the dance floor jumping.

A Subcity night wouldn’t be complete without a bevy of local talent on display and tonight is no exception, providing able support to Max will be….

Future Engineers:
Signed to the legendary L T J Bukem’s Good Looking Records label these drum and bass destroyers are well practised in creating dance floor mayhem.

Satellite Dub:
The finest (and possibly first) purveyor of Sleazetronica has been busy immersing himself in the world of synths, samplers and software.

The resulting feedback drenched soundscapes and shifting beats have drawn comparisons to Auchtre, Chemical Brothers and My Bloody Valentine.

Mother & The Addicts (DJ Set):
One of the city’s best young bands swap their guitars for the decks to treat us to a great big dirty electro hoe-down.

Lord of the Dancehall:
Subcity favourite Lord of the Dancehall returns to the Arches’ wheels of steel to kick off a night of debauchery with his jamming blend of riddims, ragga and dirty dancehall beats

Alongside all the aural delights will be visuals from Altronix and a live art installation from Sarah Potter of the Dirty Girls.
