Freshers Week - QMU - 2004

'Take some time out from Steps (Hive) and wingey indie (Qudos) and come and hear some real music. Subcity are used to getting crowds of 1800 along to Glasgow’s legendary clubs, but here’s a rare chance to see the cream of their talent up close and sweaty. The only event in freshers’ week where you’ll hear - dancehall, grime, French hip hop, and underground house the way it should be played. Featuring four of the top turntablists in Scotland battling it out. And there’s a twist: they only have 20 mins to prepare their sets and they won’t be using their own tunes. Instead they’ll be given a bag of warped charity shop records when they arrive on the night. Also featuring Subcity Radio’s fellow SRC cohorts GUST who’ll be providing dirty digital projections to match the filthy beats. '
