Hi everyone! Welcome to the first episode of Dead Figs :)
This week we’re taking it easy, introducing ourselves and discussing some female pioneers in various genres.
We’re going to look at punk, riot grrrl, protest singing, and trailblazers of funk and pop, discussing how these women have used their music against injustice. They’ve empowered future generations to embrace their sexuality, femininity, and unique identities and we think they’re pretty damn cool.
