haloCollapse is a radio show dedicated to the immersive and intersecting worlds of shoegaze, metal, and post-rock. The show explores how shoegaze’s shimmering textures, metal’s heaviness, and post-rock’s blistering haze can sometimes blend and dissolve into distortion - fragile yet overwhelming, always drenched in reverb, fuzz, and haze.

Sounds range from more famous fusions, emogaze and grungegaze, to lesser known fusions, blackgaze (black metal + shoegaze) and ambient gaze. I will highlight artists from around the world but especially artists from the southern US, including my homestate, South Carolina.

Each episode is curated on an emotion or -gaze texture. Overall, the show aims to wrap listeners in an angelic shroud with minimal chatter, yet its heavier moments erupt into a whirlwind of distortion. Still, it all settles into a cathartic balm against the damp outside.
