Subcity Rewind - JD Twitch Tribute

Thank you, JD Twitch (Keith McIvor).

It’s difficult to put into words how much Keith means to Glasgow’s music scene. His influence on other DJs, selectors and parties is so far-reaching, that it’s impossible to overstate the impact Keith has had on Glasgow club culture and beyond.

As one half of Optimo, he helped expand the musical horizons of thousands of party-goers during Optimo’s legendary 13-year tenure at Sub Club (1997-2010). The duo continued to move crowds worldwide with their genre-defying sets where you might hear techno, post-punk, industrial and orchestral numbers in the same hour.

We will forever be indebted to Keith’s musical legacy, and our thoughts are with his family and friends.

As a long time supporter of Subcity, he would always respond to our invites and take time out of his busy schedule. He did broadcasts on Subcity on a number of occasions, a testament to his unwavering commitment to our radio community over the years.

Join us, today (21/9) from 7-9pm, in paying tribute with a special rewind of two, hour-long sets from Optimo’s JD twitch in the Subcity Studio, dating from autumns 2023 and 2024.
