Subcity Presents - Isa Gordon

This evening we'll have the honour of welcoming in Isa Gordon to the Subcity studio for a guest appearance. Isa is a Glasgow-based electronic and live artist whose music has been flourishing and quickly gaining traction in the upper echelons of Scottish experimental music.

Her 2022 release "For You Only" on the Optimo label weighs up countless influences, juggling as much input from Glasgow's experimental club history as it does from tightly-structured dance music, Scottish folk, rock, and her many years of live instrumental expertise. The sound palette on display here, and in her subsequent EP "Clyde Falls", is placelessly surreal and alien, and yet retains an unmistakable Scottish essence and personality that renders it a totally unique and mesmerising listen. We encourage everyone to give her music a listen. It'll be fascinating to see what she releases in coming years and it's a pleasure to have her on air.
