Wool-gathering - 2 - Driving here, there, everywhere
In today's imaginary world, you're a kid once more, buckled up, and ready for a long car journey. You're sat in the same seat you always sit in - you can't remember the day you chose this particular one. Isn't that funny how that happens? You race raindrops down the window, yell 'yellow car!', 'cow!', and 'horsey!', as they rush past you in a blur of colour, and watch the moon as it follows you on its horizon (did anyone else think this too?). You drift off to sleep, neck crooked, as the night grows dark and the red and white lights of the motorway twinkle.
This episode is a big old love letter to my family, who I always miss very much, and the music we all listened, sung, and danced to in the car throughout my childhood. It's a sappy one, so put your seatbelt on and enjoy this adventure with me, served with a healthy ladle of nostalgia and reminiscence.
